Triad home staging franchisee experiences record-breaking first year

The owners of a local home staging franchise location are being recognized for a record-breaking first year in terms of revenue.

Local Showhomes franchisees owners Nancy and Robbie Jones brought in $150,000 in revenue.  “We doubled the first-year goal from January to July and are on track to hit the $300,000 mark by year’s end,” Nancy Jones said.

Last week, the husband and wife team learned that they are experiencing a record-breaking year for highest revenue in the first year of ownership.

Nancy and Robbie Jones were home managers in Florida for another franchisee before relocating to North Carolina.  Through the Showhomes Triad location, they offer a variety of services, including traditional home staging, home redesign, makeovers for currently occupied homes and in-home management.

“Only 10 percent of buyers can visualize their things living in an empty house,” Nancy Jones said.  “Sixty percent of the houses that are staged sell faster and for a higher price.”

For example, a home in Oak Ridge had been on the market for a little more than a year and had been reduced from $595,000 to $550,000.  This spring, the local Showhomes updated the home, and the owner relisted it at $595,000 and received multiple offers within five days.

“Whether it’s staging or it’s neutralizing colors, making the house move-in ready is one of the biggest factors that is getting a house sold now,” Jones said.  “The more you do on the front end, the higher revenue you’re going to get on the back end.”

Jones and her husband have three designers and an operations manager on staff and contract labor. Previous projects have been completed at homes with list prices ranging from $150,000 to $2.5 million.
