Today we’d like to introduce you to Marisa Salas, owner and General Manager at Showhomes Coral Gables, a professional Home Staging company.

 

Marisa, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
My family had a jewelry business that I played an integral role in for many years. Once I had children, I opted to focus solely on them for a few years before getting back into the business. I knew I no longer wanted to pursue a role in retail because the hours are extremely demanding, often requiring me to stay late into the evening and work weekends. My husband and I decided to look into franchising opportunities and found Showhomes – a home staging business that offered the flexible hours I required to raise my children with the creative design aspect I was hoping to find in my new venture.

Since then Showhomes Coral Gables has been extremely successful because we have the ability to cater to our client’s needs. The real estate market in Miami has evolved over the years, and with it our home staging business has evolved too. Today, we are working in a wider range of territories offering new and unique home transformation services to our clients – all while helping Homeowners and Realtors make record breaking sales in their neighborhood.

 

What are some of the highs and lows of staging in a hot Real Estate market like Miami? Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what are some of the struggles you encounter along the way?
When I first opened my Showhomes location fourteen years ago, we didn’t offer the wide variety of services that we offer today. Opening up our options to our clientele has given us the opportunity to serve them better. Now we offer everything from home staging, to furniture leasing, to makeovers of owner-occupied properties – but most importantly helping position our customers to close on a sale quickly.

I always knew Miami was a top destination for home buyers and investors, but since 2020 the housing market has skyrocketed. Our client base now includes Homeowners, Realtors, Renters, Investors, Developers and even Contractors. With more homes being listed and renovated, our business has expanded to offer services that meet the high demand for different home transformation services. We have also expanded our territories to reach all throughout Miami, Key Biscayne & the Beaches.

 

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Showhomes Coral Gables – how does your company bring value to your clients?
Showhomes of Coral Gables is a home staging company based in Miami, Florida. We offer a wide range of home services, all of which aim to position a home to sell faster and for top dollar. Our transformations can be so impactful, that in some cases home staging may even increase the appraised value of a home.

We’ve been in business longer than the majority of our competitors and offer full-service home staging from small condo space to multi-million dollar properties. Most importantly, we take pride in building meaningful relationships with our customers and being a part of their home selling journey. The majority of our business now comes from client referrals and Realtors who believe in the powerful marketing tool of home staging.
