As a professional
\nhome stager, I frequently provide consultations for home owners who have their
\nhome for sale or will be placing their home on the market soon. Many times, I suggest
\nfresh paint in the home either in several rooms or throughout the interior of
\nthe home. Because the majority of buyers today are seeking a home that is
\nmove-in-ready, fresh paint provides a clean, attractive backdrop that allows
\nbuyers to not have to consider the expense of painting before making an offer. Most
\nsellers agree that painting may be something can accomplish or hire a painter
\nto take care of, because they recognize the value in my suggestion. However,
\nthe color suggestion I frequently recommend is what meets their hesitation: a
\nglorious shade of neutral white. <\/span><\/p>\n

In recent years,
\nthe color gray has been the predominant on-trend backdrop for new construction
\nand homeowner repainting projects. While I personally still love the color gray
\n(my own home is painted Sherwin-Williams Front Porch), the new trend is white, and
\nit provides a, clean aesthetic that results in a fresh, modern look for buyers.
\nThe problem I have found is that sellers who have been used to color in their
\nhomes, resist the white suggestion because it may feel too stark and clinical
\nfor them. While I understand that if you love color, going with a white paint
\ncan feel like you have betrayed your own sense of style and personal taste.
\nHowever, when you choose to put your home on the market, it is necessary to
\ndisconnect emotionally from the home, recognizing already that it will be
\nsomeone else’s and preparing in that respect.<\/span><\/p>\n

Unfortunately, many
\npeople associate white with the strict color of white from a crayon box. The
\ngood news is that there are thousands of shades of white! Some of my current

\u00a0While it may contradict
\nyour own personal preference for color, shades of white are a great choice for meeting
\nthe demands of today’s buyers, including the millennial generation. According
\nto the <\/span>National
\nAssociation of Realtors\u00a02019 Home Buyers and Sellers Generational Trends
\nReport, 37% of home buyers are millennials. That means over one third of the
\nindividuals who view your property both online and in person are millennials, <\/span>which
\nloves a clean, crisp palette<\/span>. <\/span>My advice is that If you are a seller
\nlooking to put your home on the market, or if you already have your home on the
\nmarket, consider the transforming power of white when painting your interior,
\nunderstanding that there are many shades of white which choose, and a
\nprofessional may be needed to pick the right one. If you need help, contact a
