Adjusting our Showhomes Sails in the Midst of the COVID-19 Crisis
The global pandemic that has gripped our personal and professional lives
has and will have a long lasting and serious impact in the months and years
to come. We may not know what those implications are at present, but we
must be prepared for life to shift course in both small and large ways. At
Showhomes Charleston, we are doing our very best to change our means of
operations in order to keep our staff healthy, while continuing to serve
our clients and their agents to the best of our capabilities. Adjusting our
sails is necessary and will allow us to remain focused on our mission and
exercise our creative energies – something we are pretty good at doing!
Here are a few changes we are implementing to that end:
VIRTUAL CONSULTATIONS
We are offering virtual consultations for owner-occupied properties that
need assistance in preparing their home for market – whether listing soon
or in the near future. When staying home for safety during the pandemic, it
may be a good time to take care of the necessary pre-listing
recommendations we may offer. We can do these via photography of each room
in the home or by a FaceTime call. Email me at lbrown@showhomes.com to schedule or

PERSONAL PROTECTION
Keeping our team safe is of the utmost importance. We are not requiring any
of our personnel to work if they do not feel comfortable. And, we are only
staging vacant homes and ensuring that gloves are used, surfaces are
cleaned, and that individuals maintain a 6-foot distance while working.
RESCHEDULING
We have worked hard to push up pending projects. Should the State of South
Carolina issue a stay-at-home mandate, we will comply and reschedule any
projects as needed. Real Estate has been deemed essential in some areas,
but staging may not be considered a part of the real estate exemption. We
will not jeopardize our business nor our employees in putting anyone at
risk.
HOME MANAGER HOMES
In order to ensure the safety of our Executive Home Managers who live in
and care for luxury homes while they are on the market, we are providing
guidelines for showings and certification of non-exposure or illness due to
COVID-19.
Since 2011, Showhomes has been a trusted home staging resource for the real
estate community in the Lowcountry. We hope that our operations are not
impacted to a great degree, but we recognize that nothing is certain as we
all navigate through these unchartered waters. We value the confidence you
